Mary J. Blige has had quite the year! A rollercoaster in her personal life allowed the iconic songstress turned actor to emote in both arenas of film and music.
Not only did she release her critically-acclaimed album Strength of a Woman in April, but the R&B legend has been receiving rave reviews for her role in the dramatic film Mudbound.
The Queen of Hip-Hop Soul has been nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in Any Motion Picture, pitting her against Hong Chau (Downsizing), Allison Janney (I, Tonya), Laure Metcalf (Lady Bird), and Octavia Spencer (The Shape of Water).
