Motown Records Kevin Ross has debuted a music video for his soulful cover of Andre 3000’s “Prototype.” The R&B crooner debuted the standout remake on his early fall EP, Drive.
The cinematic visual opens with Ross as a crime scene photographer, who finds a startling sight when he pulls back the bloody sheet over a dead body. The video then rewinds to reveal an eerie story of a scorned woman.
“I think I’m in love again,” sings Ross. “Today must be my lucky day / Baby, you are the prototype / Let’s do something out of the ordinary, like catch a matinee / Baby, you are the prototype.”
Kevin took to Instagram to share his gratitude for the video’s director and creative team. “Thank @iammarcdiamond and the entire team for making my dark twisted vision for this song come to life,” he wrote.
