Listen: Tone Stith Releases Response to H.E.R.’s “Focus”

By

It’s another totally terrific #ToneTuesday, haha.

Tone Stith keeps fans covered with something brand new this week and it’s another dope cover. Actually, it’s more of a response record to fellow R&B Freshman H.E.R.’s popular song “Focus.”

Self-produced by the New Jersey native, Tone looks to focus on himself but he can’t stop thinking about his girl at home.

“Out on the road / All this none stop working I can not stop thinking ’bout you,” he sings. “Girl when you’re gone I’m all alone / And you don’t have a clue that I don’t want to give up.”

The struggle between career and love is almost too hard to bare, but Stith stresses his commitment if she can just meet him in the middle. “I get this money so we can live this way,” he sings while flexing his signature falsetto. “But you feel alone even when I get home … I don’t want to give up / Can you just meet me in the middle / Darling work with me just a little.”

Last week, Tone Stith paid tribute to Maxwell with an exceptional mash-up cover of “This Woman’s Work / Lifetime.” If you missed it, you don’t want to sleep, check it out here.

Take a listen to his response to “Focus” below.
