Jessie Reyez recently returned with the socially conscious single “Body Count.” Produced by Babyface and The Rascals, the honest song addresses the hypocrisy of how men and women are judged differently about the number of people they’ve had sex with.
The songstress recently sat down with Genius for the latest episode of their ‘Verified’ series and broke down the track.
“I’m proud of who I’ve had sex with and what’s the difference?” Reyez tells Genius. “If you can walk into a room and be like, ‘Yo, I just slammed this girl,’ and just get high fives. I should be able to walk into my room with most of my homegirls saying, ‘I just banged this guy,’ and just get a lot of high fives.”
