ThisIsRnB’s Unfolded sat down for an exclusive interview with the lovely songbird Teenear where she talks latest single “Free,” empowerment, inspirations, music collaborations, growth in the industry, whats next and so much more.
When asked what her inspiration was for writing her latest single ‘Free’, Teenear related the single to a past toxic situation. ” Free represented me in a place where I just wanted to free myself out of the toxic situation… It represented freedom for me personally and the situation I was dealing with… It made me feel a sense of freedom, empowerment…and I want other people to feel motivated and feel the same.”
Hailing from Miami, Florida, by way of Jamaica, singer-songwriter Teenear, is already making a mark in the industry and draws inspiration from artists ranging from Rihanna to SZA, Kiana Lede and Mariah Carey and more. Collaborating with some of musics hottest talents such as Lil Baby, Sage the Gemini, Fetty Wap and her label mate rap veteran Trina who was featured on the singer’s dancehall inspired ” Streetlights” remix in 2016, Teenear is poised for a great future in the industry.
Teenear is set to release her debut EP which which will explore themes of love and relationships from an adult point of view.
