“Equality is not conversed, it’s exerted” – The HamilTones
From Emmett Till to George Floyd, the debate over the value of human life has been ongoing throughout history. The Grammy-nominated viral R&B/Soul Trio known as The Hamiltones kick off Black History Month with a plea for humanity in the official music video for “My Life Matters”.
“The world’s in a state of Tragedy/ Freedom with no equality/ Only thing left to say is/ My Life Matters/ Tell me what do you see/ when you look at me/ cause I see me/ My Life Matters/ and I see Strong/ We keep pushing on/ My Life Matters…”
“My Life Matters” is from The Hamiltones’ powerful new album 1964, which was released on the 57th anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr.’s iconic ‘I Have A Dream’ speech at the March on Washington, and the 65th anniversary of the high-profile death of Emmett Till.
