Inspired by the need to fill a significant void and be the voice of a generation in the culture that they represented. The Headies Awards understand the urban contemporary pop culture that Afrobeats brings to mainstream music and have created a mega platform that interfaces with young, talented artists who represent the future of global music.
“This period is a very interesting period in our country (Nigeria) and around the world. Last year we gave away a Bentley to the winner of the Next Rated category, so this year we wanted to do something else, and that is to give the “Rookie Of The Year” a 2-bedroom fully furnished solar-powered house.” – Ayo Animashaun, CEO and Founder of The Headies Awards, at the 2023 Headies Brunch in Lagos, Nigeria.
The Awards show will be streamed live on YouTube (U.S.) and HipTV (Africa) Network.
