The Grammy Award winner Ledisi unveils her latest single titled “Sell Me No Dreams” via ListenBlack Entertainment/BMG, the follow-up to her Billboard chart-topper, ‘I Need To Know.’
With her beautiful soulful vocals on full display, Ledisi brings an emotional depth to the song as she sets the record straight. “Sell Me No Dreams” is a love song but in a different kind of way.
Ledisi lyrically underscores the need for reassurance in matters of the heart, emphasizing she’s not for silly games or dreams. If she is the only one giving 100 percent to the relationship, there could be collateral damage.
“If I give a hundred don’t give me half back/’Cause I’m not going to let you love me like that” she sings.
The pre-chorus gets right to it as Ledisi sings, “If you only talk it but don’t walk it/let me know/’Cause I’ll be more than happy to show you the door/’Cause my time is valuable, oh (So valuable). The chorus solidifies the fact that she’s not playing with her lover singing, “If you gon’ love me, then love (Love me)/If you gon’ leave me, then leave (Leave me)/Don’t leave me hanging/Don’t sell me no dreams, oh.”
“Sell Me No Dreams” is a no-nonsense solid message of needing to know where love stands. A catchy tune delivered with grace and class as only Ledisi can.
In addition to the single release, Ledisi announces her 27-city “Good Life Tour” commencing March 6, 2024, in New York City and will weave through various iconic cities.
