Jennifer Hudson has been truly blessed to join the ranks as one of the nine (to-date) Black EGOT winners and since 2022 host of her very own syndicated daytime talk show going into her third season; ‘The Jennifer Hudson Show.’
After being introduced to the world twenty years ago on the popular TV singing competition show, American Idol and powerhouse R&B singer Hudson has cemented her mark in the entertainment industry.
Jennifer Hudson is the latest digital cover star to stunningly grace ESSENCE Magazines of the ESSENCE.
During an interview with ‘of the ESSENCE’ Hudson shares, “When I wake up in the morning, what’s going to make me smile today? What is it that my person needs today? You know what I mean? Not boss lady, mama, and all the other titles in the world. The first check-in is, Okay, how am I feeling today? And then, what would be that one thing if I can’t do nothin’ else in this busy day, what is the one thing I can do that I can say I did for me?,” the multifaceted entertainer, mother, friend, and fan of Christmas music.
Hudson names Mariah Carey as a guest she’s been starstruck by, and one she is now lucky enough to call a friend. Hudson had the chance to collaborate with the Queen of Christmas on the remake of her track “ Oh Santa!” in 2020 (which also featured Arianna Grande). Hudson will release her very own Christmas album, ‘The Gift of Love’ on October 18. Revealing “She’s always been a holiday stan, something she bonded with Carey over.”
