Better Brothers Los Angeles (BBLA), in partnership with Emmy Award–winning actress and activist Sheryl Lee Ralph and The DIVA Foundation, proudly announces the honorees for the 12th Annual Truth Awards, powered by ViiV Healthcare.
According to official press release: On Saturday, March 21, 2026, the 12th Annual Truth Awards and Scholarship Ceremony will take place at the iconic Beverly Hills Hotel—an evening dedicated to honoring Black LGBTQ+ trailblazers and allies whose impact spans popular culture, media, politics, and the arts.
Former CNN anchor Don Lemon to be honored with Lifetime Achievement Award at the Truth Awards and he will be joined on the honoree program by new Grammy winner Duran Bernarr, reality TV vet Carlos King and Jenifer Lewis.

The 2026 theme underscores a powerful message of unity, resilience, and collective responsibility. This year’s honorees represent fearless truth-telling and transformative leadership across industries.
- Don Lemon will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award for his unwavering dedication to journalism that informs, challenges, and inspires change.
- Durand Bernarr, Grammy-winning artist, will be honored with the Music & Arts Award for redefining musical expression through bold creativity and vocal excellence.
- Carlos King, widely known as the “King of Reality TV,” will receive the Media & Arts Award for his groundbreaking contributions to storytelling and representation.
- Jennifer Lewis, multi-award-winning actress and activist, will be honored with the Ally Award for her outspoken advocacy, commitment to inclusivity, and fearless pursuit of equity and acceptance.
