On the heels of winning his sixth GRAMMY® Award, the SRG-ILS Group proudly welcomes PJ Morton’s own “Morton Records” to its label roster, announced February 17 in an official press release.
The New Orleans–based soul singer, songwriter, producer and performer, Morton a 6x GRAMMY winner and 22x nominee who has also earned recognition from BET, Soul Train and the NAACP Image Awards. Beyond selling out historic venues including the Apollo Theater, he has built a multifaceted career as an independent label owner and as the longtime keyboardist for Maroon 5.
Over the years, Morton has collaborated with icons such as Stevie Wonder, Erykah Badu, Jon Batiste, Nas, Lil Wayne, JoJo and Jill Scott. He also made history as the first Black composer to write an original song for a Disney attraction, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, now open at Walt Disney World and Disneyland.
“PJ Morton is a generational talent and everyone here at SRG/ILS is extremely excited to be part of his upcoming projects,” shares Claude Villani, CEO and Founder of The SRG-ILS Group.

Under the new partnership, Morton Records and SRG-ILS will begin rolling out songs from PJ Morton’s forthcoming album later this year, marking the next chapter for the acclaimed artist, entrepreneur and cultural trailblazer.
