Grammy Award winning songbird Chrisette Michele says “you have to get out there and pull it together,” referring to being heartbroken and moving forward as she does in the new single “Epiphany”.
“We say love every day so many times – I feel like it’s a big part of our lives. But I want people to dance.”
Sitting down for a unique interview with Jill Scott at Essence Magazine, who Michele had never met before, the former “Be Ok” singer zeroed in on switching things up for the forthcoming sophomore effort Epiphany. After being heard on numerous tracks from Hip Hop elite including Jay-Z and Nas and belting out singles like “If I had My Way”, Michele says it’s time to put on dancing shoes.
“You’ll hear more bass heavy stuff and club bangers.”
Chrisette Michele’s new album, Epiphany, is slated for release via Def Jam May 19th. For more on Chrisette Michele and Jill Scott’s exclusive chat session, pick up the April issue of Essence on newsstands now.
