Music: Jazmine Sullivan – Take Over You + Anything To Have

By

Earlier this month, Jazmine Sullivan shocked fans and many in the music world when she announced she would be stepping away from the industry to re-evaluate her life. Before she deleted her tweets, the news had already made its way around the net and caused enough stir for her to follow up with a reassuring tweet that she was fine, but just needed to switch “things” up a bit. The announcement though was all that her collaborator, producer/writer Salaam Remi needed to liberate a felicitous, unreleased track that shed some insight to her troubles with an over controlling industry. Often common practice when artists say they are stepping away from their art is the surfacing of unreleased content. In this case 2 records, I believe to be from the sessions of her first LP, were just sent to us.

Both tracks are collaborations with soul producer Anthony “Ant” Bell, who was behind Jazmine’s “In Love With Another Man” from Fearless and “Redemption” and “In Vain” from Love Me Back. Check out the two unreleased joints below, and shout to EKEK.
