SUNDAY SOUL: LOU RAWLS

By

This weeks Sunday Soul, we focus on the legendary Lou Rawls. If you haven’t met his music already, his friend Frank Sinatra once said that Rawls had “the classiest singing and silkiest chops in the singing game”. In his early years, he started out working with fellow legend Sam Cooke, so basically…Rawls was just the MAN! He is also the subject of an upcoming biopic, tentatively titled “Love Is a Hurtin’ Thing: The Lou Rawls Story.” Rawls’ son, Lou Rawls Jr., is the author of the script. Rawls will reportedly be portrayed by the actor Isaiah Washington.

Take a listen to these 3 gems.
