Mariah Carey shared her joy and pain during an interview with Robin Roberts on Tuesday’s “Good Morning America,” where she discussed the passing of Whitney Houston, her husband’s health, Dem Babies, and new music. In honor of American Heart Month, the Jenny spokeswoman debuted a black-and-white PSA to create awareness for heart disease.
After attending Houston’s homegoing service over the weekend, the pop diva had a difficult time speaking about the loss of her friend and collaborator, who she dueted with on the Oscar-winning song “When You Believe.”
Mariah also revealed that she is working on new music, possibly inspired by recent events. “I’m trying to get this song done next week and I’m gonna see if it happens,” she said. “It just happened and I feel like it’s appropriate for the moment right now.”
