The rumors were swirling and it has now been officially announced that D’Angelo will perform at this year’s Essence Music Festival, this will mark his first show in the US in ten years!
Since the beginning of 2012, the soulful legend has returned to the stage with his brief and sporadic European tour, but this would mark his return home. The festival, which also features Mary J. Blige, Tank, Trey Songz any many more, takes place July 6th-8th in New Orleans. D’Angelo is expected to perform on opening day according to Essence.
