John Legend and his fiance Christine Teigen have opened up their home to interior design fanatics. The R&B crooner and future bride show off their first Los Angeles home in the March issue of Architectural Digest. The properties decor was designed by Don Stewart, whose clients also include Legend’s G.O.O.D Music chief Kanye West.
Stewart said the architecture had an Asian influence, which inspired his design ideas, “I told John and Chrissy that it reminded me of a Thai temple. That Asian influence was something they responded to, especially since she is half Thai.”
“Our style is chic and tailored, but also earthy and casual,” explained Legend. “Since this is our first home in Los Angeles, we wanted it to feel right not only for us but also for this city.”
One of the cool highlights is the custom chandelier above his grand piano, which features lyrics from John’s first album inscribed on the light fixtures.
The new issue of Architectural Digest hits newsstands on February 12.
