Earlier this year, Miguel revealed that “How Many Drinks” would be the next single off his critically acclaimed sophomore album, Kaleidoscope Dream, and he hinted that a very special L.A. artist would be on the new single version. As many speculated the artist would be Kendrick Lamar. The two L.A. natives linked up yesterday to shoot the official music video, and they even took a moment to jump on uStream and make the official announcement to their fans.
“Being from Los Angeles I’m really keen on working with artists from my hometown,” explained Miguel. “We’ve had the opportunity run into each other and to do shows together, but I think a lot of people forget there’s so much talent in L.A.. For this single it was really important to kind of remind people there is unity amongst musicians in Los Angeles, and hopefully create a really special moment that sparks even more creative connections.”
