This past Sunday TV One aired the 2013 ‘Trumpet Awards,’ which were hosted by radio personality Ricky Smiley and actress Essence Atkins. The special event honored artists, humanitarians and public figures, including Chaka Khan (Legend Award) and Charlie Wilson (Lifetime Achievement Award)
Among the nights special performers R&B songstress Fantasia and rising star Luke James performed a crowd pleasure tribute to Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell. Today being Marvin’s birthday, he would’ve been 74 years old, it seems fitting that the footage is now available online.
Their medley included classics “You’re All I Need To Get By,” “Heard It Through The Grapevine” and “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough.” Peep the performance below:
