Miguel Talks Praise from Mariah Carey, “Power Trip” Video with J. Cole, The Attack on Boston & More

Miguel stopped by BET for ‘106 & Park’ on Monday to kick off their Music Matters week. Being an early Music Matters artist, the R&B star spoke about his journey as an artist and the discovery of finding yourself. He shared his feelings on receiving praise from Mariah Carey this weekend over his Saturday Night Live performance, he spoke about the concept and working with J. Cole in the new video for “Power Trip.” Miguel also spoke about covering the new issue of Vibe magazine and being called a ‘trailblazer,’ he also shared his feelings about the attack on Boston.

“The weird part is that, these marathons are set up to benefit non-profit organizations, so they have no political or religious [connection], it’s really unfortunate, not only for the innocent bi-standers, but for the organizations that stand to benefit from the people that take their time and energy to run for these causes. It’s really unfortunate and my prayers go out to the families and the victims,” Miguel shared.
