New Music: Mayer Hawthorne feat. Kendrick Lamar – Crime

Ok, can I be honest with you? I’ve never been much of a Mayer Hawthorne fan, idk what is, just never connected to his music in a serious way. But, earlier this year a friend played us a new record from the soulful singer, and we had no choice but to kinda flip out. That record, turns out to be this – “Crime” featuring Kendrick Lamar, which was just released today via a stream of his new album ‘Where Does This Door Go.’

If there was still a need for a summer anthem, this track right here, could be it! It’s not a typical R&B song in anyway, much more on the Soul/Pop side that Hawthorne is mostly known for, but the vibe on this joint is so damn smooth! If it doesn’t catch you on first listen, go outside, find a pool, get a drink, sit down, and play it again.
