The young homie August Alsina has released his first commercial body of work this week, the EP ‘Downtown: Life Under The Gun.’
In promotion of the project the 20-year-old singer made the media rounds in NYC, stopping by the Hot 97 show to talk with Cipha and Ebro, where he once again told the story of his life before music and finding success after he got out of his previous situation, joked around about light skin vs. dark skin, and talked about his EP.
In addition August returned to BET’s ‘106 & Park’ to perform for the live audience and also talk about the project, including his collaborations, and keeping music honest and authentic for those that are living a similar struggle.
