On Thursday, R&B legend Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds was honored with a star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame. The ten-time Grammy Award winner was joined by friends and collaborators such as Usher, Diddy, L.A. Reid, Toni Braxton, Stevie Wonder and more, who came out to help celebrate the joyous moment with their pal.

“Everybody has a song or that moment when Kenny, or Babyface, really set the stage for what cool was,” praised Usher at the gathering which drew a huge crowd. ” Whip Appeal was my moment.”

L.A. Reid, who moved to Los Angeles with the man of the hour to pursue a career in music, reminisced about the good old days, joking that he felt shared ownership of the plaque.

“I hope you’ll understand it when I say this, but it feels like it’s mine as well,” said Reid. “Kenny and I moved to L.A. probably around 1983 or ’84, not far from here, and we weren’t doing that well, if you know what I mean, and so I’m proud because he’s come so far.”
