It’s a very Carey year so it seems! Prepping for the release of her fourteenth studio album, Mariah Carey has been making many radio rounds to promote her new single “You’re Mine (Eternal)” and upcoming album. Taking to New York’s 95.5 WPLJ recently, the 43-year-old beauty took the time to open up about her pending album and the long process behind it.
While the album is due out on May 6, the diva stated that she is actually still in the studio finishing it up. Saying, “I added three new songs because I felt like the journey was not yet complete in terms of…as a song writer.”
Mariah also shared that this album has a lot of collaborates on it from friends that she’s known for years including Jermaine Dupri, who is now her manager as well. When asked about working with Jermaine on past projects like “Shake It Off” and “We Belong Together” and now her current album, Mariah tells Ralphie Aversa of 95.5, “I think he’s very generous in that way”.
In addition, the veteran songstress discussed her opinion on the EDM sound. Although the album is still lacking a title, Mariah is holding strong to the May 6 release date. With the recent release of “You’re Mine” and it’s remix featuring Trey Songz, hopefully we get to receive a full album reminiscent of our favorite, The Emancipation of Mimi, soon.
