It looks like one of our favorite couples are heading for the list of failed Hollywood marriages. Robin Thicke and Paula Patton have announced that they will indeed be separating after nine years of marriage.
Paula officially revealed the news in a statement to PEOPLE on Monday. “We will always love each other and be best friends, however, we have mutually decided to separate at this time.”
The “Lost Without You” singer and Hollywood actress were high school sweethearts, who first met when Thicke was 14, and finally tied the knot in 2005. They had a son named Julian Fuego in April 2010.
This split comes after various rumors circulated recently of Thicke getting close to various woman in some after party situations. He was rumored to have kissed a woman in a Paris night club while partying with Kanye West earlier this year, and a fan reported that the singer grabbed her butt and was flirting with her after a MTV VMA party, before taking her number to connect later, this past August.
Whether those rumors are true or not, the couple always seemed to be truly in love, and most of Robin’s past material was always written directly about Paula, including his most recent single “4 The Rest of My Life.”
