“There’s a meeting in my Bedroom, BEdroom, BEDroom, BEDRoom, BEDROom, BEDROOOMMMMMMMMMMM!”
R&B group Silk formed in 1989 in Atlanta, Georgia and were discovered by none other than R&B OG Keith Sweat. “Meeting In My Bedroom” was a classic hit released on the quintet’s platinum ’99 album Tonight. Super producer Darrell “Delite” Allamby put his golden touch on both the song and album. The song followed the sexy and sensual format of ’90s R&B, and showcased the group’s unique and notable 5 part harmony as well as their incredible vocal range. In fact lead singers John John and Lil G showcase their vocals on the song as John John switches to a higher octave on the second verse, and Lil G sings the highest note/octave on the memorable “bedroom” harmony breakdown.
All I can say is tenor, falsetto, and bass YES SILK!!!
With Valentine’s Day around the corner I suggest you pencil in some “meetings” and don’t forget the wine! LOL.
