Last month, Citi presented an exclusive John Legend concert for Citi ThankYou Cardmembers at The Emerson Theatre benefiting Teach for America in Los Angeles.
While the R&B crooner finally landed his first No. 1 single on the Hot 100 with “All of Me” last week, the next song John will be pushing from his fourth studio album Love In The Future, is the tender love song “You & I.”
Seated at the piano in front of the intimate crowd, JL introduced the song by saying, “Sometimes you have to let your loved one know that they’re special.” He continued, “When I wrote this song I was thinking about when Chrissy and I go on date night, and sometimes there is all this pressure to look so good, everybody is going to see you, but this song is just letting her know that even before all the make-up and all those fancy clothes she’s already perfect in my eyes.”
This coming Sunday, John will perform at the Billboard Music Awards live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
