Jhené Aiko unleashes her rap alter ego J Henny on an alternate version of “Stay Ready (What a Life).” The L.A. songstress spits Kendrick Lamar’s original verse on The Fisticuffs-produced track off her EP Sail Out.
“She’s an aspiring rapper,” Jhené previously said of her rap persona. “She still sings, but she’s more aggressive. She likes to really talk a lot of shit and talk about things that a lot of R&B singers don’t talk about.”
Jhené is currently prepping for the release of her Def Jam debut album Souled Out, due later this summer.
