It’s been a long road for Teyana Taylor, but it seems like it’s just about time for her to receive her shine! While she may not have landed the role of Aaliyah in Lifetime’s biopic, she did land an OK to release her long-awaited debut album.
Stepping on the scene with 2008’s “Google Me” through Pharrell’s Star Trek/Interscoper imprint, the then teenage Teyana failed to release a full length album despite the slight success the song saw. Now, signed to Kanye’s G.O.O.D. Music/Def Jam label, the 23-year-old has announced her debut album VII that fans can expect on October 21st.
The album, which is spearheaded by the Yo Gotti and Pusha T assisted single “Maybe,” is said to also host the potential follow-up single, “Do Not Disturb”. Shooting the video to the lead single just last week, the blonde bombshell warned fans to stay woke as she tweeted, “Don’t Sleep. #VII #Oct.21 #ItsTime” in reference to the new album.
Can’t wait that long? Teyana can also be seen touring with August Alsina on his Testimony tour kicking off August 14 in Seattle.
