Jerome Woods better known by his stage name Rome, is a R&B singer from Michigan. “I Belong to You (Every Time I See Your Face)” was a single off his 1997 debut album Rome. The single peaked on the Billboard Top 40 chart at #6 and on the R&B chart at #2. His debut album went on to sell over half a million copies in the U.S., earning Gold certification.
Rome possessed a raw soulfulness in his music that caught the attention of RCA Records. Prior to Rome signing to RCA, he moved from Benton Harbor, Michigan to California to pursue his music. He also toured with Vesta and as a part of R&B band Fire & Ice. The music video features him singing at “Club Rome”. By the looks of the video it’s not just one woman he belongs to.
