“Don’t stop get it get it; don’t stop get it get it” OMG Do you remember watching this on BET’s Planet Groove and hearing it on your local radio station in 1997?! My local radio station had even changed the words to you’ll never find a station as good as this in their promo.
Something For The People was a group founded in 1990 by Curtis “Sauce” Wilson and Jeff “Fuzzy” Young, both from Oakland, California, along with Los Angeles native Rochad “Cat Daddy” Holiday. The group signed with Capitol Records, who released their debut album in 1993. As songwriters, they wrote tunes for En Vogue, Brandy and more. Switching to Warner Bros. Records they re-released their debut album in 1996.
“My Love Is The Shh” was their first single off their second album, This Time It’s Personal. The song featured sisters Trina and Tamara. The single went gold and reached No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100, and No. 2 on the Hot R&B/Hip Hop chart. The group went on to do further work as songwriters in the wake of the tune’s success, penning tracks for Will Smith and Adina Howard. Band member Jeff “Fuzzy” Young passed away in 2011 from a heart attack.
