Mary J. Blige has stepped out of her comfort zone and traveled across the pond to work with some of the most acclaimed young artists hailing from the UK for her special new album The London Sessions. Today, the Queen gives fans a behind-the-scenes look at the recording sessions for the album with the video for “Right Now,” the first UK single off the project.
In the black-and-white visual, Mary hits a London studio to record with British duo Disclosure, who produced the track with Sam Smith and Jimmy Napes.
“Our idea was to become part of London, to really embrace the culture, to really live in it,” she recently told The Guardian. “The music is free over here the way it used to be in the States. Artists are just free to do what they love. Listening to the radio you can hear the freedom. The music is living and breathing—you can hear that from Adele’s last album.”
