August Alsina gave his first interviews following his health scare, after collapsing on stage in New York, and have multiple seizures in the hospital, which lead to him being put in an induced coma for 3 days.  The R&B star visited both ‘The Breakfast Club’ on Power 105.1 and ‘Ebro In The Morning’ on Hot 97, while he was in town to perform with Usher at Madison Square Garden on “The UR Experience” tour.

Starting his chat with ‘The Breakfast Club’ he spoke about the hook-up app Tinder, which he agrees is only meant for 1 thing, and no one should be looking for relationships on there. Moving forward he opened up about his last performance in NYC and the causes for his collapse. He confirmed it was only health issues due to dehydration and some malnutrition because he wasn’t eating well, and not any type of drug use. He revealed that during his coma he saw his brother (who passed away in 2010) and he confirmed to him that he was doing what he is supposed to be doing and now he has to go do it better.

He also explained his views on today’s relationships and certain females and how that gets reflected in today’s R&B music. “No, I’m not singing ‘ohh I want to love you baby,’ no no I don’t [love you],” he said. Continuing on August explained that his music will reflect when he is actually in love. “To be a lover in such a unlovin place, you just got to go with the flow, until you find what it is.”

In addition to also talking about the heath scare on Hot 97 he spoke about what he learned from the experience and what he’s been learning from being around Usher on the new tour. He also revealed that he is working on new music with Nicki Minaj.
