The Grammy’s might be right around the corner, but stars gathered a little in advance to celebrate another big night that’s catered to women of color.

Showing up for Essence’s 6th Annual Black Women in Music Gala, many of the industry’s talented stars came together in support of one another on Thursday night in Los Angeles. Stepping on the red carpet dressed to kill, “I Bet” singer Ciara showed a little hip and lot of thigh in an all black wrap around dress.

Newly single songstress Jordin Sparks also arrived at the event showing a bit of skin, while the curvy Chrisette Michele opted to casually arrive in an all black romper. Donning her big red hair and leather tights, the legendary Chaka Khan offered up her support as she arrived with her engraved fan, as the talented Ledisi, let the girls hang out for the evening in a deep cut pant playsuit.

Other attendees include buzzing singer V Bozeman, Disney star Zendaya, singer/actress Antonique Smith, the lady in blue and honoree, Jill Scott, Leona Lewis, MC Lyte, and more.

In addition to the above stars, singer-actress Brandy was in attendance and even blessed the crowd with a performance for the event featuring her singles “Sitting Up In My Room,” “Put It Down,” and a tribute to Jill Scott with “Golden.”
