Miguel loves quality things. “It’s been fun putting it together. I kind of found a new passion,” he tells The FADER about curating the look and feel of his Los Angeles home. For the latest installment of their “At Home With” — a series presented by Sonos and The FADER where they peek into artists’ homes to see where they live, listen and make music — they visited Miguel’s chill L.A. pad and in-home studio, where he gives viewers an inside look at his recording process, recounted a wild house party, and even introduced his cat Munchie.
“I start everything here [in my studio] with ideas, and actually a lot of songs I’ve finished in here. It’s set up so I’m self-sufficient, and that’s kind of how I like it,” said Miguel. “For me it’s like, the solitude of being in your own home and comfortability and the amount of vulnerability you’re able to accomplish – you can’t compare that to the way it feels to be in a really sterile studio. It’s just a really comfortable place and that’s how I wanted the house to be in general.”
