Progressive R&B artist Gallant follows up last month’s impressive comeback “Open Up,” with another dark, slow-burning R&B jam entitled “Talking In Your Sleep.”
While previous releases have shown grand creativity and artistry, this latest release might just be Gallant’s first masterpiece. Producer Stint, who also handled production on his previous effort, returns with genre altering arrangements, highlighted by echoing vibrations and wails both synthetic and vocal, but it’s Gallant’s own voice that makes the track such a captivating piece.
“Talking in your sleep / Waiting for a love, even though you know you’ll end up, walking a mile on your own / And you can’t seem to break out of it,” he sings on the mesmerizing chorus.
Both “Talking in Your Sleep” and “Open Up” are expected to be lifted from Gallant’s next EP, his first release on new label home, Mind of a Genius, later this year.
