Janet Jackson has surprised us with the official music video for the album version of her comeback single “No Sleeep” featuring J. Cole.
Directed by Dave Meyers, the music icon hasn’t missed a step as she struts around her house in the evening hours, posing in front of a vintage photo of herself and her father, lounging on the sofa, and in the bedroom. Janet coos out the sultry lyrics as she pines for her lover over the buttery smooth Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis production.
Visual effects place J. Cole in every section of the room as he kicks his slick, metaphor-filled verse from inside and outside in the rain.
Janet is set to release her first LP in seven years, around late September, via her own Rhythm Nation Records/BMG. She will kick off her “Unbreakable Tour” on Aug. 31 in Vancouver.
