If there was ever any question on if Janet Jackson still had “it,” we’re pretty sure that you’ve found your answer! Kicking off her “Unbreakable” world tour on Monday, August 31 in Vancouver, the legendary performer proves why being a Jackson will never get old.
Hitting the stage in an all white ensemble, the 30-plus year veteran performed a span of hits as well as a few new tracks from her upcoming album, Unbreakable. One in particular that she gave to fans was the club-ready track that features Missy Elliott titled “Burn It Up.”
In addition to burning it up, Ms. Jackson took the crowd back a few years with a medley of dance hits including “Control,” “Nasty,” “All For You,” and many more. Also delivering an updated spin on her classic track “Any Time, Any Place” with lyrics from Kendrick Lamar’s “Poetic Justice,” Janet makes us slightly jealous that she’s still got it after all of these years.
Of course, a Janet tour wouldn’t be a Janet tour without a finale performance of everyone’s favorite “Rhythm Nation,” with which she followed up with a new song that’s part ballad, part peace anthem.
If you haven’t secured your tickets for the tour yet and you still have the opportunity, hopefully this will convince you to come up off those coins.
