Rising R&B artist Mikhala Jené makes her debut on ThisisRnB with the release of her brand new project, ‘The Prelude‘ EP.
Boasting 5 original songs, entirely produced by burgeoning Roc Nation producer Deputy (Rihanna, Wale), the EP is a stellar and impressive introduction to the North Carolina native. Mikhala’s angelic tone stands out immediately, while ’90s influences are undeniable throughout her delivery.
Speaking about her debut project Mikhala explained:
“When working on my EP #ThePrelude it was very important to @deputy718 and I that we created music that contained substance, depth and a message, something we feel is missing in today’s music. Our goal was not to blend in but to master a sound that was both nostalgic and refreshing; a sound that reminded us of the music that inspired us to be artists. We worked really hard to serve you guys a hearty home cooked meal to feed the soul NOT fleeting fast food. And I’m confident we did just that. I’m so happy with how it all turned out. All of the time energy and late-nights in the studio lead us to this point. So we welcome you on this journey. This project is only the beginning of our gifts’ potential and what is to come…This is….#ThePrelude.”
