Usher Receives Birthday Serenade from President Barack Obama & First Lady

What a time to be…Usher!

While the newly turned 37-year-old thought he was taking a trip to the White House specifically for his set during “In Performance at the White House,” President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama things turned up a little bit more for the superstar singer.

Surprising him with a sweet serenade of their own and single candle cupcake for his enjoyment, the couple – and a few staff members – sang “Happy Birthday” to the father of two. Armed with an unexpected expression and big smile, Usher took to his Facebook to share the clip saying, “So this really happened the other night…The President and First Lady sang me Happy Birthday at The White House & I got to perform for them,” Usher captioned the clip. “I couldn’t be more grateful for this moment and all of the birthday wishes from everyone. THANK YOU!!!!! #‎Blessed #‎OlderWiser.”
