In 2014, news broke that Beyoncé would be taking on the world again as she joined forces with UK apparel and accessory brand, Topshop, to bring about the follow-up to the early ’00s House of Deréon line that she created with her mother – Tina Knowles.
The 50/50 venture between Yoncé and Topshop owner, Sir Phillip Green, was set to begin distribution this Fall, but due to unnamed reasons (perhaps due to the 2% rise in underlying pre-tax profits and the 2.3% drop in sales during the first 10 weeks of the new year), the line was pushed back. The venture has been seen as unusual as it leads to a launch of a new company – Parkwood Topshop Athletic Ltd – opposed to just a mere collaboration as many celebrities have done in the past.
Now set for a Spring 2016 release, the global streetwear brand – as a reminder – will sell clothing, shoes, and accessories for women, and will include style categories such as dance, fitness, and sports. The new line will be sold at the 300+ Topshop stores, as well as on Topshop.com.
With rumors moving around about release of new music any day now, one can’t help but wonder if there will be some sort of joint roll out with the new athletic line. It definitely makes more sense than not.
So tell us: Are you anticipating the new line’s arrival?
