Only 15 months since releasing his acclaimed album X, Chris Brown has returned with Royalty!
The seventh studio album by the R&B superstar is a rounded mix of his varying styles from EDM laced dance cuts, to party anthems, and bedroom jams. It has been led by the singles “Liquor,” “Zero” and “Back To Sleep.” The standard edition contains 14 tracks, with only two guest appearance from Brown’s labelmate Solo Lucci on “Wrist” and Tayla Parx on “Anyway,” while the deluxe adds four more cuts including the Future-assisted “U Did It.”
The album title and some of the music was inspired by his one-and-a-half-year-old daughter. “I can’t be perfect, but she’s helping me shape my decisions and my actual consciousness,” Brown told Hot 97. The album represents “where I’m at right now in my life … [My daughter] is the biggest part of my life.”
In addition to the album, Brown has been releasing a new music video each day this week, which are pieces to a longer story, shown in mini-movie form, inspired by his life and past relationship with Karrueche Tran.
