It’s only been two months since Eryn Allen Kane gave us her outstanding Aviary: Act 1 EP, but she’s already blessing us with new music. On Monday, she released her new single “How Many Times,” off of her forthcoming EP, Aviary: Act 2.
The likes of Prince, Spike Lee, and Chance the Rapper aren’t the only ones who can see how special Eryn truly is. Her raspy voice and soulful phrasing captures emotion amazingly, and makes “How Many Times” the perfect single to drop on MLK Day as she lends her voice to call out injustices in today’s society.
The track starts with a slow and repetitive piano intro that has growing tension. Then enters Eryn’s hauntingly beautiful voice that sings, “How many times do I have to tell you we go on and on and on, fight oh…/How many lies do they have to tell you?”
Eryn Allen Kane will be performing “How Many Times” on ABC Chicago’s top rated morning talk show “Windy City Live” on Tuesday, Jan. 19. Chicagoans can tune in at 11 AM CST to watch her live.
