Drake ain’t playin fair!
Well, we kinda already suspected it, but today the news has officially been announced that mystery artist dvsn has signed with the “Hotline Bling” rapper’s OVO Sound label. If you’re already familiar with the name, great, but if you’re not, dvsn (pronounced Division), was one of the most impressive and mysterious acts to emerge in 2015. Late 2015-may we add-with the release of 4 very, very strong records.
Like, “With Me,” “The Line,” “Too Deep” and “Hallucinations.”
Drizzy’s longtime producer and OVO co-founder, Noah “40” Shebib, posted dvsn’s logo on Instagram today. His caption shouted out both dvsn and OVO Sound. And, dvsn’s music is listed under OVO Sound/Warner Bros. on iTunes.
Mystery has surrounded dvsn since last fall, when their first 2 songs were premiered on OVO Sound radio. According to reports, dvsn could be comprised of producer Nineteen85 (best known as co-producer on Drake’s “Hold On, We’re Going Home,” “Too Much,” and “Hotline Bling,” as well as Nicki Minaj, Drake and Lil Wayne’s “Truffle Butter”) and little known Toronto singer Daniel Daley.
Nineteen85 fueled those talks with a tweet on Monday morning (Feb. 29). “The line with the two dots,” he wrote.
