R&B songstress Ledisi is simply the truth. And as we await her next album, the dynamic singer, songwriter and actress has dropped an exceptional mini EP called, Nostalgia Movement No.1. Paying tribute to some of R&B’s legendary icons, Ledisi covers “Settle For My Love” by Patrice Rushen, “Once Had Your Lovin'” by The Isley Brothers and “Love On My Mind” by the late Natalie Cole.
Ledisi takes the classic ballads and makes them her own with mellifluous delivery. Production by Butta-N-Bizkit, Erick Walls and Rex Rideout respectively, create a stellar tribute to the roots of R&B.
Commentary from the original artists at the beginning of each track adds a special touch.
Ledisi revealed that we can expect new original music from her soon, but we wouldn’t mind if she decided to do Nostalgia Movement No. 2.
Take a stroll down memory lane with Nostalgia Movement No. 1 below.
