Let’s hope we can all put this to bed now, but Kyrie Irving has finally broken his silence in regards to the serious drama that occurred this week between him, his recent ex Kehlani, and singer/rapper PARTYNEXTDOOR.
In a series of tweets from Wednesday, that have since been deleted, the NBA star expressed his concern for the You Should Be Here singer and cleared up their relationship status.
“It’s been hard to see what’s been going on and not address the truth,” he wrote. “I do not justify the picture or what [PARTYNEXTDOOR] did to try and spark all of this nonsense that could have been avoided, but me and Kehlani were not dating when the picture came out. It’s unfortunate that it’s received so much attention, but its become bigger because of a post that was misunderstood,” he continued. “Nothing but love and compassion over this way for her and her family. My only focus, the Game I love to play every night.”
The picture that Irving is referring to is the photo PARTYNEXTDOOR posted of him holding Kehlani’s hand while they were in bed together. The picture instantly went viral and many people on social media viciously attacked Kehlani for what they believed was her cheating on Irving.
This led to Kehlani going on Instagram and revealing that she wanted to end her life. Thankfully she didn’t, but was hospitalized for a day.
She also denied the infidelity rumors. “Don’t believe the blogs you read .. No one was cheated on and I’m not a bad person,” wrote Kehlani, adding, “I am severely utterly in love with my first love [PND]. Went thru a bad breakup and ended up easing into a relationship with a man who was one of my best friend[s].”
Since then, Kehlani has been on the mend and is resting at her home.
We hope this can all be put in the past and move on with what fans have been most looking forward to – her Atlantic Records debut album, which is expected this spring/summer.
