Tory Lanez brought the ’80s and ’90s to SXSW. On Friday (Mar. 18), prior to Drake and OVO’s Saturday surprise, the Canadian rapper-singer behind “Say It” delivered a smash-filled set at the FADER FORT in Austin, mixing his own cuts with classic R&B.

After launching his set with the hard-hitting “Priceless,” Lanez announced his intentions. “I’m here to do one thing,” he said. “And that’s f*ck this sh*t up and party with y’all.”

Following “The Mission” and “N.A.M.E.,” Lanez shared his passion for music from yesteryear. “The illest and the most dope songs come from the ’80s and the ’90s,” he told the crowd, before breaking into Bell Biv DeVoe’s “Poison” and Ginuwine’s “Pony.”

That led the Toronto star into his own hit single, “Say It,” which he called “the most important classic of all.” From there, Lanez capped his set off with some shirtless crowd surfing to “The Godfather” and “Diego.”
