Erykah Badu deserves to be on covers all the time! But, we’re glad she is back releasing music, and getting out there sharing her gifts and beauty on a consistent basis.
Gracing the cover of The FADER’s new April/May issue, the soulful Grammy Award winner previously covered the mag all the way back in 2001, where she shared the feature with singer Bjork. In the cover story Badu talks about the Black Lives Matter movement, social media, Donald Trump, her journey toward becoming a midwife, co-parenting with André 3000, and her newly launched independent record label, Control FreaQ.
In addition to sharing some intimate photos with her daughter at home, Erykah also shared a brand new remix for our listening pleasure. Previously inspired by “Hotline Bling,” this time she takes on a bubbling underground cut titled “Thru It All” by Wintertime.
You can check out her full FADER feature here, and take a listen to Erykah’s “I Been Goin Thru It All” below!
