On April 13th, 2016 at the Park Plaza in Los Angeles, Ray-Ban x Boiler Room unveiled the first set of a monthly party series titled “Open Your Heart.” The event is described as, “an evening of intimate musical connections curated by LA-based collective Soulection,” the show included performances by Jhené Aiko, Kali Uchis, BJ the Chicago Kid, and DJ sets from Soulection DJs.
Both singers captivated the packed crowd. During Jhené’s set she performed “Eternal Sunshine” and also covered John Mayer’s “Stop This Train.”
BJ gave the audience even more with his 30 minute set of past and present fan favorites, including tracks off his stellar debut album In My Mind, as well as a some acoustic covers such as Usher’s “Nice & Slow.”
