PJ Morton brings us that real deep south soul with the music video for, “Sticking To My Guns,” the title track from his newly-released maxi single. The five-track maxi-single is the prelude to his upcoming studio album, which will be released in early 2017. This will be Morton’s first full-length solo release since returning to New Orleans and forming his record label, Morton Records.
The music video for “Sticking To My Guns” was filmed, directed and edited in New Orleans by Allendra “Cinemadona” Freeman, who recently worked with Morton filming and directing the video for “I Need Your Love,” and served as a cinematographer on Beyoncé’s Lemonade film and single, “Formation.” Beginning with an idea to film a concept based on the Black Lives Matter Movement, Cinemadona brought her vision to life using real-world experiences of both her and Morton’s culture of growing up in New Orleans and the church, being immersed in gospel, jazz and blues.
Sticking to My Guns (maxi single) is available on iTunes and all digital retailers. Check out the video below.
